Dovga Soup from Azerbaijan

This pleasant herbal soup-- called Dovga-- comes from Azerbaijan, a country straddling Eastern Europe and West Asia in the South Caucasus region. Bordered by the Caspian Sea to the east, it shares boundaries with Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, and Iran. We dipped-- and cleaned up our bowls with-- warmed pita bread. All in all, this soup was a flavorful blend of Russian and Middle Eastern influences.   Here is how I put it together: (please read over complete recipe to establish all ingredients needed)   DOVGA DELIGHT  Cook on the stove:  1/2 C. Quinoa (or Rice) in 1 1/2 C. water. Set aside.  1/2 to 1 cup Green Peas (put aside for garnish) Combine in the Vita-Mix Cannister: 2 Small Yellow Onions, cut up  1 Green Onion, cut up  1 Celery stalk, cut up  2 T. Fresh Mint Leaves  4 T. Fresh Cilantro  2 C. Fresh Spinach Leaves  1/2 tsp. Celtic Sea Salt (or to taste)  Pepper to taste  Blend in Vitamix (or other blend...

Veggie Pie in a Quinoa Shell - Vegan, Gluten-free, No Oils

This is a delicious and easy-to make recipe, and I vouch that the crust for this veggie pie is absolutely not able to be a disaster (from a person who always fails at pie crusts). I suggest that you might want to make the following ahead of time: 1 1/2 Cups of White Beans (or you can just opt out and buy a 15.5 oz can) 1 1/2 Cups of Cooked Quinoa 1 Cube of   Best Golden Soup Bouillion   (or 1/4 Cup of your usual vegetable broth)   Here is the list of other ingredients that go into this pie: 1/4 Cup NonDairy Milk (unsweetened works best) 2 T. Nutritional Yeast (NOT brewer's yeast or baker's yeast) 1 T. Almond Butter 1 T. Corn Starch 1/4 teaspoon Smoked Paprika 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked (ground) Black Pepper 1    small Onion, minced 4 cloves    Garlic , minced 9 ounces Baby Spinach 6 ounces Cremini (brown) Mushrooms, finely sliced 1/2          Red...

Ketoflex Recipe: Curry Cauliflower Rice Soup - Vegan -

Today we were taking turmeric and honey every hour (half a spoon full of a 5 T. honey/2 T. Tumeric mix) to build our immunity.  This wonderful immunity soup (curry is packed with those wonderful Indian herbs like turmeric and cumin with their medicinal benefits just slightly overshadowed by their warm electric flavours) seemed like a natural supper dish! This one of those warming soups-- I am not a big fan of HOT curry, but I love a mild curry that is kind of like coming in from a frigid walk in the winter and putting your feet up on the oven door (somehow can't believe we used to do that). The original recipe gave options for the oil used.  I chose coconut oil, since there is also coconut milk in here, and it seemed like a good idea to carry through with the "tropical" theme. I also subbed baby spinach for the kale that it called for.  It is a very light and lithesome soup.  It is the kind of soup I like to sip when I am feeling not quite 100%. But apart f...
